I’m afraid I misunderstood your reference to “gold tracker.” If you meant an ETF/ETN that is a derivative contact that isn’t backed by gold, then, yes, I agree that it is ethical neutral.

That’s what I get for beginning to engage in a complex and fraught topic as I’m heading out the door.

Wasn’t aware of Beano annuals until I just looked it up. Somehow I missed out on reading comics as a child. For some reason that is likely to be irrelevant, it reminded me of the Tin Tin series, which a close friend gave to my kids as a Christmas gift. Yet another problematic area, given how marinaded the series is in British imperialist tropes. The kids loved them and it provided an opportunity for discussion instead of ritual denunciation — something that is increasing impossible these days.
