His fatal flaws are that he is not smart enough to know what he is not good at AND he is a terrible judge of people/hires.

His massive ego also prevents him from improving and learning from his mistakes and taking the advice of those smarter/better than himself.

While he might have been the perfect CEO for this company 15 years ago when they were struggling to breath, he is not the right CEO to capture massive opportunity and grow this quickly to $100mil in revenue. He could be considered a genius if he would simply hire a great CEO and step back into a COB or CTO sort of role. But EGO prevents the smart decision.
