2. Treatment : In this study, the study drug was compared to a placebo. The chance that you will receive the study drug compared to placebo is 67%. Participants are randomized (randomized) into one of three groups: 30 mg ANAVEX2-73, 50 mg ANAVEX2-73, or placebo. The dosage is slowly built up to 30 mg or 50 mg over a period of 4 weeks. The capsule is taken daily in the morning with breakfast, for a duration of 48 weeks. Agreements will be made with you when you need to come to our center for check-ups (inquiries of side effects and medication use) and physical and neurological examinations and neuropsychological examinations will take place, in addition to a twice an MRI (at the beginning and at the end) and possibly an epidural.

In total, 7 visits are made to the research center over a period of 52 weeks.
