The company I was working for let go 60% of its job force due to COVID-19 so yes, employees are the quickest way to get rid of expenses. I was one of those who was let go back in mid March due to COVID-19, but fortunately another similar position opened up at my previous employer and I was able to come back after 3 and half months. Apparently, some prefer to get the unemployment benefits because they are getting paid just as much or more, but that's only going to cause more headaches for the economy and I believe this week is the last week for the Federal $600 benefits.
