Love ZH. They keep my investments grounded in reality in this wave of valuation irrationality. Funny they call it “controversial” as if reasonable monetary policies like partially backing with scarce resources is somehow just crazy forbidden thought crime.
Back to NAK. I stayed up reading the FEIS and watched the articles make the rounds this morning. I did not finish every page but overwhelmingly the mine has met or exceeded all requirements. Most importantly little to no impact on the salmon which was the big sticking point for the non-environmental populace. They were sold the lie for years and here is proof that green slugs were wrong. Will the locals pay close attention and back off this notion that their livelihood will be destroyed? The modern media environment consumers tell me no, usually they will double down. However, at this point the outrage will have to quiet down. Don’t put it past eco-Terrorists to try crazy shit or come up with more of their own BS studies, they have a ton of resources.
The proximity to the election is my biggest sticking point on this whole deal. We are near 100 days away from this project being taken away again. If the EPA decides to delay their ROD(which they specifically said anytime after 30 days, with the ability to hold it indefinitely as an end date was not specified) until after the election to see who is in the WH they are turning this into a risk. While it’s unlikely they a they pull that crap, I don’t trust them or any government agency not to f’ with the deck of cards.
It’s likely the price slowly climbs over the next month, not where we all know it should be. I see the loads of new investors in this project (RH gamblers) looking only at % gains and not valuation of what’s in the ground as has been discussed here recently.
