Hi Reaper,

So as I’ve mentioned before, I grew up in Eastern WA. The climate there is more arid and hotter then the greater Seattle area, for sure. My wife grew up in suburban Seattle. Never had a huge need for AC in her formative years (unlike me - who dealt with 100+ degree temps for over a month - and 85+ for 3 to 4 months).

When we bought our current home (about 1.5 years ago) in Pugetopolis, I suggested to my wife that we set aside X-amount of cash that we would forego using for a down payment, but instead use for installing AC. Yeah, the decision added about $50 a month to our mortgage, but hearing my wife telling me that installing AC was one of the best decisions we’ve made? Well, it’s nice to have a “win” in 2020.

And it’s not about me being right and her being wrong, at all. I’m just happy that we both see the value in the decision. Believe it or not, AC in households is not common around the west side of WA. But man, it’s 90 degrees outside right now, and I’m very comfortable inside my home :)

Hope all is well with you!
