BP's problem is a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.82 compared with, as an example, 0.16 at Chevron.

OXY is in the real deep-end with a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.71, just to show things could be worse.

Chevron's dividend currently yields 5.9% while BP yields 10.8% which suggests a BP dividend cut to me.

We've run out of other people's Social Security taxes needed to subsidize our low income tax rates.
