Anavex and Cognision are the core and indispensable members of the Schizophrenia Biomarker Validation Consortium. All the other members including the much larger BPs are following Anavex clinical trial technology using Cognision tech to validate the biomarkers. Once these biomarkers are established and accepted by the FDA as valid surrogate endpoints all the members of the consortium will trial each of their own Schizophrenia drug in a basket trial with all the others together using the exact same biomarkers and trial endpoints and parameters. There are several important opportunities for members of the consortium including Joint Ventures where some of the BPs take a "piece of the action" in the smaller companies drugs by providing financing for the trials in exchange for rights to some potential profits. For Anavex it means that Merck and Takeda and others see the Anavex clinical trial methods as smart, efficient and superior to what had been done in the past. Anavex figured out how to leverage the Cognision technology in efficient clinical trials with superior chances for success. The other members recognize this and are joining in. The value of Anavex is not just in its pipeline, though valuable and impressive, there is maybe even more value on a long term permanent basis in Anavex skill at clinical trial design and technology. For a loose anology think of this: Apple's most valuable and indispensable asset is not iPhone it is the Apple OS of which everything in the Apple ecosystem is based.
