jasbg, Very interesting post. The question I have is how could they know
that Judge Du would rule the way she did...and the AMRN legal experts, and
JT himself, felt so confident they would win. Add in the likes of MRC
which had his arguments rebuffed by the FDA...how could these folks be
so right. Makes you wonder if someone had an inside track on what
Judge Du would...uhm...do. Judge Du's reasoning is without logic.
I wonder how it was that Judge Du was schooled on "fish oil?" Who
did she consult with? Was it someone that was in a position to benefit
that set it up? There is no "fish oil expert" in the phone book. Why
did Judge Du need to be schooled to begin with? Then what about Adam
Feuerstein's warning that AMRN was playing on "Big Pharma Cardeovascular
Turf?" That could be viewed as both a warning as well as a threat.
What was it that AF suggested that JT do? AF stated that JT was "tired"
and that AMRN was "tired." AF said JT could be a "Wall Street Hero"
if he sold the company to BP...he even used Amgen as an example of who
might acquire them. Of course, JT went on to raise more money to
build up his sales force. (If generics win, the sales force will
be a liability.) Is BP behind all this to teach JT an expensive
lesson? Or is it a setup (for a takedown) where BP will acquire
AMRN at a discount. Europe could end up being a multi-billion dollar
market. Maybe BP will get AMRN for that at a discount.
