I'm beginning to wonder if part of the delay has to to with IDH mutation testing when it appears that this was decided at a late stage. According to CLIA guidelines Pathology tissue blocks are kept for two years after diagnosis and slides are kept for 10 years. Many patients in this trial are in way more than 5 years and could the blocks have been discarded unless clinical trial samples are stored separately. However the lab may not know if the particular patient would be enrolled in a clinical trial in the first place. Are there protocols by the CRO to ensure specimens are secured and segregated? The 10Q mentioned difficulty in shipping the specimens out during this Covid pandemic as well.
