Well they clearly weren't randomized as planned, because the plan was for 2:1!
But I think you mean that the message from LG was along the lines of it just having panned out that way.

Just wondering how you arrive at 'insisted rather profusely'?

I think I can recall somebody reporting here that LG had said to him or her that there was no mystery to the randomization skew, rather it had just panned out that way. Or something to that effect.

When Ike interviewed Les for the previous ASM (the 2018 one), Ike asked LG about the randomization, and here was what Ike indicated LG had responded,

4. (18 Distribution of final 31 patients): All patients were randomized. You can't just put a group in one arm or the other. NWBO had nothing to do with which patients ended up in which arm. Because of the large number of sites, the final randomization may not have been exactly 2:1 but may have been off by a few people one way or the other.

When pressed further in detailed private conversations that were not part of an 8k or a K or Q, the response on LG's part was extremely insistent that the randomization had not been stopped, and that only treatment patients were allowed in. When discussing the topic with Dave, he too insisted that the randomization had not been stopped at the screening halt allowing only treatment patients to enter. Neither of them understand how we'd come up with this theory in the first place. So the theory was explained in detail, and the response was that it was simply a coincidence, mirroring the response given to Ike that is listed above.

So despite the rather perfect coincidence that the trial is short only by control patients and not treatment, this was, according to them, not intentional. In any event, we should all learn soon enough what the data actually reveals.
