Correct me if I’m mid-understanding the differences.
Short Volume= Number of shares borrowed to sell
Short interest= Number of shares not covered by borrower.

If the borrower covers consistently I would presume the short interest never changes. If I’m wrong feel free to enlighten me.
Since the price has been consistently decreasing I would presume the covering has been easy thus far for the borrower.
