The article says that Apple plans to diversify in the future with vendors in multiple countries. Everyone knows Apple has all their eggs in one Chinese basket. They aren't going to leave any time soon.

Regards redundancy, how many suppliers supplied the OLED screens the first year Apple used them? How many suppliers are supplying the new ToF camera for last years phone? How many suppliers are going to supply the new Lidar camera for this years phone?

It is not unusual for one supplier to supply a new technology for Apple. If the technology is worth it and the price is right, they will use it.
