My dad was passionate about his tomatoes.

He even had contests with a neighbor, the parameters of which changed every year to prevent front loading(circumventing rules). So when my mom's favorite dog of all time died(she loved him more than us kids), he pulled me aside on his way to work and whispered "when mom isn't looking take the dog and bury him in the garden...the end where the tomatoes are." lol
