What a shitty day.

It starts with me taking the motorcycle to work(haven't driven it in 2 years due to an operation on my foot), my wife needed the car. I get about 2 miles from home (works is 4 miles), and the thing dies.

So I call my coworker to explain the situation, tell him I think I just need a screwdriver to empty the deposits in the carb. Sure enough that does the trick.

Then I prepare to leave for lunch, the damn thing won't start because the battery is dead.

So I take the company van. I get home and there is a fucking stray cat trying to die on my porch.

So I call the fire department, here in France it is them that deal with this, unless it is already dead, then it is city hall. Woman asks me if the cat is dead, I say not for the moment but it could happen any minute.

So I'm sitting around, late for work, haven't eaten anything waiting for the fire department to arrive.

I hear them coming, dunno why they had their siren on, it's just a cat. So I try to wave them down, they pass right by me and do a u-turn somewhere down the road and I wave them down again.

So, apparently, according to them, the cat wasn't hit by a car, but perhaps poisoned by things unknown, and they took it off the the vet.

I though at the start that maybe I should just hit it over the head with a shovel to put it out of it's misery, then bury it in the garden, then I thought no, my wife will ask me one day whatever happened to Simon (we named it), and I'd have to say "those tomatoes you are eating, he provided the fertilizer........"
