I would agree with that suspicion. Match the Selling of diluted shares into an increase in volume that would normally drive the price up. This helps to reduce competing with the selling of profit taking and allowing the primary seller to push more volume into the market without crashing the price. This may be a sweet spot for them price wise to pull this off for maximum benefit. Of course I am not an academic of any sort, just the musings of a frustrated trader here. Though I wonder.
