Covid delays predominate.
It's put the kybosh on UK Specials since March and that continues.

kybosh or kibosh?

FYI (LOL):

ki·bosh INFORMAL

noun: kybosh
put an end to; dispose of decisively.
"he put the kibosh on the deal"

Similar:
put a stop to

stop
halt
bring to an end
put an end to
nip in the bud
quash
block
cancel
scotch
thwart
frustrate
prevent
quell
suppress
squelch
put paid to
scupper
spike
stymie

verb
verb: kybosh
decisively end or reject (something).
"the presence of a submarine would kibosh the operation"

J. Peter Maher traces kibosh to French caboche “head (informal), noodle, nut”
or rather the English verb cabosh (from French) “to cut off a stag's head behind the ears (with no part of the neck in view) as a trophy.”
Both the noun and the verb are common terms in heraldry.
