Some articles claim that COVID-19 may be triggering a new form of
Diabetes. The real devastation from this virus will be if some
people who are infected, and then recover, believe they are fine,
but later discover they have lasting residual damage to their
Cardiovascular system that may include lasting systemic inflammation.
If this turns out to be widespread, Vascepa may be a safer way to
address this problem on a long-term basis rather than damaging
steroids or NSAIDS which may be harmful if used long-term. Imagine
the impact from COVID-19 if someone in their 30's or 40's who had
the virus finds out years later that they are now diabetic or have
CVD as a direct result from having had the virus. The solution might
be as simple as monitoring for CRP levels and if that is elevated
prescribing a statin med an Vascepa. (Wish AMRN management were
more visible on this front.)

For those concerned about getting the Virus I would suggest they
read about the "association" between Vitamin D levels and COVID-19
severity, and about Selenium and COVID-19. Do your own research
and come to your own conclusions.
