Nonsense - do you think management of ANY company would just hand the advertising reins to an outside and say "go have at it, buy ads wherever you want, we don't need to give you final approval"?

That's exactly how media buying and placement works. Amarin doesn't have the bandwidth nor know how to roll out a national marketing strategy on their own and relies on third party vendors to assist with such a roll out, there are thousands if not millions of places to advertise, no way is Amarin going to approve every single ad spot. Would they be happy with it? Depending on the price/cost of advertising in it, it could go viral and assist with the DTC/ad campaign.

Some average joe found the Vascepa ad in Hustler is quite amusing, I would say the ad was fairly effective.
