Hi JL.....strange times indeed.

It was shocked when I received my positive results as I felt very good. But strangely earlier last month I spiked a fever for a day and a half...took myself immediately out of work and tested for covid and was negative. Symptoms disappeared and was back to work. Tested a second time about a week and a half later and was again negative. Tested again 5 days later and got my positive result.

I'd be curious to see results if you retested....I don't have much faith in the accuracy of the current tests being used. Seems that there is a pretty significant rate of false negatives regardless of the test. This article is pretty interesting...."All of the tests do miss a number of patients — anywhere from 5 to 30%," says Dr. Alan Wells, a professor of pathology at the University of Pittsburgh. It also talks about results from a widely used lab from Abbott in which the test missed almost half of the specimens that were tested. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/04/21/838794281/study-raises-questions-about-false-negatives-from-quick-covid-19-test

The nursing home I work for was doing very well and we had no cases for quite some time....then we got hit hard. At one point we had 47 residents and 20 staff testing positive. Strange thing is a lot were asymptomatic. Another symptom that I forgot to mention but I think you would find interesting....about a week before I tested positive I noticed I had a few new areas that appeared like a rash similar to eczema. I had an area on my face, on the back of my neck, and on my shoulder blade....all areas have since disappeared. Thought it was strange when it happened but I have read that this has been reported in other patients with coronavirus.

In regards to taking Vascepa, I'm sorry to say I don't; my last triglyceride level was around 70 and I have no other risk factors that would warrant getting this. I do take approximately 2 grams of epa/dha per day though and have continued to take this through my illness.

I am feeling better, not completely 100% yet but almost there. The thing that I am most greatful about is I did not pass the virus on to my family. I have a wife and two children (13 and 15); my 15 year old daughter also has MS and her doctor at CHOP defined her immune system as "wonky". I was very concerned of her especially getting this but knock on wood she has been clear.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with your doctor visit tomorrow. And yes I definately agree Amarin will prevail in the end; I am still continuing to buy shares. With all that Amarin has been through the past several years, there is no way the story could end this way. smile
