Because I have an extensive constitutional law practice, I am reading with great interest, the current efforts to abolish qualified immunity. The only current Republican co-sponsor of Justin Amash's Bill to do so, is a congressman from California. His opponent praised him, but then attacked him for not doing more to "save Social Security and Medicare, and lower prescription drug costs."

Takeaway for Amarin's current situation: This "lowering prescription drug costs", while not totally without merit, is a real political agenda thing, that I think very likely influenced Judge Du's ruling, as she in one felt swoop in her warped mind, made this wonderful drug more readily available for the masses, and thereby single-handedly scored a decisive blow for the fight against CVD in underprivileged communities.

We should not underestimate the political mindset of the judiciary moving forward, no matter how great Singer's Briefs and oral argument, and no matter how right and just the facts militate towards a victory for Amarin.
