Many people consider Merck to be successful. In fact, you’ve stated that you are here because you think there is something to the Duffy/Merck connection. But did you know that Merck’s CEO, Ken Frazier, is also a lawyer?

Are you seriously comparing the leadership Merck needs with 71,000! employees to NWBO with 12 employees?! You really cant compare a small startup bio tech like NWBO with a big pharmaceutical as Merck. In every MBA study, one will learn about the different stages of companies and the different leaders it needs https://www.teamworksweb.com/the-five-phases-of-leadership/ Merck is at stage 4 NWBO stage 1

What would have been best for NWBO is a CEO like dr Missling form Anavex
https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopher-missling-phd-18924a/
First a Ph.D. in biomedical then a Ph.D. in MBA after that investment banking and finance. After that years of experience with other biotech startups. IMO it would have been better to have Dr Bosch installed as CEO if he had an MBA/finance background as well.

I should also note that neither Linda or Les are “ex-lawyers”; they still are lawyers

aha interesting.
Yes they have of course a law degree and were admitted after their bar examination, but since they are no longer practicing law I meant of course nonpracticing attorney. They did not follow up on their mandatory yearly courses nor are they spending their mandatory time in court.

Look if DCVAX gets approved I really feel that such achievement is the biggest in biotech history given the non-biotech background of its management. It really is. If you would let me land a 747 it would be an incredible achievement as well... Its if Google was founded by nonprogrammers, its as if Tesla was founded by a nonmechanic.
All not impossible yet very unlikely and incredibly exceptional however unwise to start with.
