That is not true. Preferred shares ARE equity.

Preferred shares pay interest like a bond (most of them do) but they also represent an equity interest.

There is every resaon in the world that the holders of preferred shares would INSIST that their percent of total equity not change due to splits or reverse splits in the common.


If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
