Do they have ability at all to manufacture in the EU? Advent is the contract manufacturer for them over there, but all Advent has is in the UK which might be useless post Brexit.

Not at all useless for UK Specials. The UK Specials scheme is not under any threat. UK Specials will continue whatever happens at the end of the Brexit transition year.

Possible outcomes and likelihoods at end of Brexit transition year:-

No deal exit 45%
Fully negotiated exit 5%
Further transition year 45%
Something else I haven't thought of 5%

No deal exit would mean UK leaves EU and no longer comes under EMA.
Drug regulation in UK would revert to MHRA. And so would approval of any Covid vaccine (God help us...)

Fully negotiated exit. Now looking exceedingly unlikely, because the UK Govt couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag at the moment. But if it happened, UK would probably retain some sort of associate membership of EMA and some sort of reciprocal arrangement for drug approval whereby both the EMA and the MHRA would retain part responsibility. Though the UK could negotiate to leave the EMA completely. Which wouldn't be very sensible, give the tatters public services will be in, in 7 months time.

Further transition year. Now looking more likely as time passes. Seeing as precious little negotiating has taken place in the first transition year, might as well have another one.

Something else I haven't thought of. Oh yes, I know what it was.
An election is called due to the disastrous mishandling of Covid. Labour call for another referendum on leaving the EU.


In any of these events, there should be no change to UK Specials.
UK Govt is scratching around looking for UK vaccine manufacturing capacity. They just need to locate a facility they can bring on stream quickly (God help us...)
