That they needed cash to keep the lights on was not something you needed to guess. Their cash flow has been consistent for 3 years now.

The large payment to the CRO is just some speculation that there was no need to guess because it is likely not even true. They have been paying the CRO for over a year to scrub the database and it was mostly done a year ago. Whatever is left is not that much. And I doubt the CROs have been letting a known deadbeat run up a tab.
