Right on. My post was nothing more than a reflection of what was in my own head. There was virtually no judgment, whatsoever. One of the things I learned in law school that stuck with me more than most non-law topics, was the concept of not losing the reader with boring details. The reader wants to read a concise summation of the most salient points and then only if they want more information, they can look at the references and citations, which you've laid out brilliantly.

In fact, we were taught that most judges will likely read the conclusion first and if there is more they want, they know where to get it (in the rest of the brief). In fact, I go immediately to the conclusion in every professional paper, be that what it may, that I read.
