I thought everyone already had this figured out, but imo its an attempt to prove where the delta came from between mgmt methylated and unmethylated. Not only can they compare wildtype IDH (which typically performs worse) to mutated IDH, the literature shows that mesenchymal subgroup is devoid of IDH mutation. So if the surviving patients are mgmt methylated but also IDH wildtype this goes to show that DCVAX and not chemotherapy is responsible for the increased delta between mgmt+ and mgmt-.

IDH helps us (humans, cause that's how we should roll) prove that the original finding of a benefit in the mesenchymal subgroup wasn't due to chance. Liau said that group was immune dysregulated and on top of the PET probe and all their other work this seems like a good biomarker.
