There are pros and cons from being the biggest. KO has definitely gone a different direction from PEP. Although both have gotten into the water craze, I'm not sure how much this has added for KO financially.
KO can either offer up their own line of seltzer drinks, or just buy out that which is already taking hold.
Since I'm not on their board of directors I have no say (or actually ability) to make the right call for them. As an outlier, I'd guess buying up the existing company is much easier.
