I don't know about you but I would trust the implications from results from UCLA before I trusted results from the Optune trial that got approval even if there might be someone somewhere getting some benefit from the device. Seems to me a case might be made that the difference in sample sizes are not as important as the 4.5 and 5 year results comparison. How many patients from the Optune trial made it to 5 years OS or even 4.5 years OS as was the median in this TLR-3 agonist trial? I'm pretty sure this small trial beat Optune in this regard badly. There are some good reasons why guidance is being changed along with good reasons for a properly run larger blinded trial. I just don't think you need to wait 5 years again to give patients a shot at a better outcome now even if absolute claims can't be made until fully proven. Best wishes.
