Welp just spent 6 days in the ICU and spent the first 53 hr.s intubated and no, it wasn't for that.
I had been fighting pneumonia for six weeks apparently thinking at first it was just some upper respiratory crud without a noticeable fever but producing ever increasing flem and coughing before the struggle for oxygen began(COPD joining the fight?), my poor old bod being depleted of defenses (magnesium etc) after 6 weeks this past thurs. in a big time way. As soon as they pulled the ventilator I was surrounded by the COPD/respiratory team which I had been dealing with at the same time, unbeknownst but suspected by me. I'm now loaded up on inhalers, steroids and anti biotics.

Oh, the good news, saturday I earned my ears, covid 19 negative, of course all of the scads of nurses, phlebotomists, vitals checkers, floor moppers, sanitizers and all of the COPD/respiratory team were coming from the 51 covid patient's rooms on the ICU floor into my room all thru' the night and day hourly. They lost one patient during that period.

All I know is that those were some good drugs, I awoke to a face 9" from mine adorned in a heavy cloth mask and matching head scarf adorned with large bright yellow and blue images of Tweety Bird and Puddy Tat with bright blue smiling eyes in the slit saying "welcome back, how ya feeling?". Any drug that can make me coexist with a large, hard foreign object diving deep down in my right nostril and a large tube down the other for 2 + days plus an impossibly large tube 10"-11" deep down the center of my pud for 5 1/2 days is a drug that will make man go where he's never gone before, never should go again.
