At a time when the annual interest rate for bank accounts was five percent, Ponzi promised investors that he could provide a 50% return in just 90 days. Ponzi initially bought a small number of international mail coupons in support of his scheme, but quickly switched to using incoming funds from new investors to pay purported returns to earlier investors.

I don't recall LP ever promising undeliverable returns to early investors, at the same time as trying to lure in new ones.
LP has never promised investment returns to any shareholders or prospective shareholders. Years and years of filings have made it quite clear that shareholder dividends are not anticipated at all in the foreseeable future.

And every filing goes into copious detail about risk factors associated with investing in NWBO stock.

So perhaps you should give the epithet a rest.
