I just sent the following to Marcos Sznaldman, the primary examiner for five of the six patents that Judge Du invalidated. May not come to anything but I thought I'd try.
"I thought you might like to be made aware that 5 patents you worked on in 2012 and 2013 were recently ruled invalid as being obvious in a mistake filled ruling by Chief United States District Judge, the Honorable Miranda M. Du.The case was before the United States District Court for the District of Nevada and is Case No. 2:16-cv-02525-MMD-NJK and titled Amarin Pharma, inc., et al., (plaintiff) v, Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., et al., (Defendants).
The patent numbers are:
US 8,293,728 B2
US 8,318,715 B2
US 8,367,652 B2
US 8,431,560 B2
US 8,518,929 B2
I'm sure you worked hard and diligently on these patents and I'm sure you found good and substantial reasons to issue them. Further, I assume in the workings of the Patent Office, other people reviewed your recommendation and signed off on them. To me it seems unthinkable that someone can override and invalidate the hard work and diligent work of Patent Office professionals when reviewing many fewer documents than those that go into a patent search and decision.
I don"t know if the Patent Office has a legal department that reviews and defends issued patents, but if they do you may wish to bring this to their attention. The case will be appealed this summer and the Patent Office might like to file an Amicus Curiae brief in this matter, defending the patents.
Thank you for your attention to this matter."

All it takes for evil to prevail is for a few good men to do nothing.
