Maybe the insurance company is delaying it to get a better deal with the rig?
Im really amazed that the interest in shallow GOM is zero, and has been for so long! Safe jurisdiction, infrastructure in place/low break even. Investors go to Africa dealing with shady governments for a few million barrels of oil. What do the industry know that we dont? Was shale really that great? If only a few percent of the money that went to shale would go to GOM we would be up and running.
