My weight loss has risen to higher turf since adding an ounce or so of chia in the afternoon. Flax will do it, too---but it must be ground or your body won't be able to benefit from the nutrient profile. I use a coffee grinder.
If you weigh daily and keep the numbers next to your keyboard, you'll derive a lot of satisfaction from your progress. That's important in my opinion. The high fiber increases motility demonstrably. We're addressing the poopability factor, of course. When on a strict program, you'll want to distinguish between weighing in the nude as well as naked on the inside. lol
Something the wife and I are doing is to eat lighter in the evening meal. Large meat-based dinners sludge the gut. Sure, you feel happy when you're not hungry. But the content consumed can be a mix of water and veggies and/or salads (without much dressing) and skinless chicken or pork can get it done. I was a huge meat piggie. Now it's about how to create great meals using meat as not more than a protein with wonderful flavor.
I'm betting your wife can revise ways in which she maintains you--but not all of you. lol
