HD, did you read the article in the first link? LOL, it specifically says the 80%-125% is a myth, a statistical artifact, that actual FDA requirements are within 10% of brand name, and actual measured comparison data shows 3.5% to 5% diffs. The reason patients can tell if their generic has been switched to a different manufacturer is because the PK studies measure peak plasma levels *and* Area Under the Curve (AUC) - the AUC variability means one drug may get into the bloodstream faster in one generic compared to another, but they don't hit the same peak level, they stay at a lower level for longer, therefore the area is the same. Imagine a rectangle on an x-y chart, #1 is A wide x B high, #2 is B wide x A high - areas are identical.
