That's very possible. To evaluate whether that is a valid reason, we would have to know what terms it would take for the current generics to settle, and then how much would it cost Amarin to litigate and/or settle with other generics.

Remember, if they settle with Reddys/Hikma, and then other generics tried to enter the market, Amarin could sue in a different court, and that court would not be bound by Miranda's ruling. In another federal court before a different federal judge, Amarin could rip Miranda's ruling to shreds, and then that federal judge would have no fealty to Miranda's atrocious ruling.
