Brian Sodi suspended from appearing or practicing as an accountant before the SEC despite not being a licensed CPA since 1998.

Respondent Sodi, 48 years old and a resident of Boca Raton, Florida, was licensed as a CPA by the State of Florida in 1995. In or about 1998, Sodi allowed his Florida CPA license to lapse. Between 1998 and 2017, Sodi was owner and principal of various penny stock promotion publishing houses, including Capital Financial Media LLC ("CFM") and List Data Solutions LLC ("LDS").

That's interesting. I didn't even know he was a CPA in the past. I wonder why the SEC felt compelled to suspend him from practicing as a CPA a day after the final judgement was entered in the SEC's case against Sodi. I suppose there was always a chance he would have renewed his license...

Sodi was Indicted for securities fraud after years of stock scalping while doing hard mailer stock promotions. He pled guilty in May of 2019.

He is still awaiting sentencing. It was scheduled for May 14, 2020 but got rescheduled to September 2, 2020 due to COVID-19.
