but IMO what they (AMD) are proposing would take a breakthrough to enable, and it doesn't sound to me like they have found one today.

At this point in time if you are an AMD investor, your only hope is that they are holding back something or have some sort of breakthrough in the works. That and the affect of Dell on earnings are the only catalysts keeping this stock up. If they are all talk and there is in fact no "breakthrough" or no "sandbaging", then I don't think even a positive Dell influence will help their stock.

I find it ominous that 75% of AMD is owned by insitutions, of which 19% is held by AXA and 10% by Openheimer. Hope no one yells "fire" in that crowded theater. Even worse, AMD has been diluting its stock at a tremendous rate recently. At AMD's dilution rate, Intel would be over 10 billion shares outstanding. Clearly the most important driver for AMD is its stock price. It is the driving force that keeps AMD in the game. When Sanders said we like to use other peoples money he was evidently talking about AMD stockholders.
