It seems to me that AR and VR were already beginning the move past “cutting edge” before this pandemic hit. Even when social distancing mandates are relieved, we’ll have already become somewhat accustomed to communicating with others using technology. Heck, I “had a beer” with a couple of buddies via FaceTime the other day. It was different in that we weren’t sitting at a bar, but we still had a lot of fun.
I’m not saying that the aforementioned experience will directly lead to more demand for AR and VR, but I do think it’s somewhat indicative of people accepting the use of technology for entertainment and staying in touch with others. Just my high-level thought on it.
