It is highly unlikely that loans backed by Fannie or Freddie will foreclose on borrowers given the current climate. From 2002 through 2014, I listed and sold REO properties for both Fannie and Freddie and noticed a significant shift to "doing anything and everything" NOT to foreclose after 2008. Fannie and Freddie will instruct their servicers not to foreclose as they will face backlash like you have never seen. IMHO
