The car has 93K miles. We've put new breaks, exhaust on the car in recent months. The headlight covers rusted off and now we just have the housing for the headlights fully exposed to weather, etc.

When it doesn't start it usually tries to turn over, but doesn't. We then let it "rest" for about 5-10 minutes and most of the time it will start right up. If we haven't waited long enough then we have to go through the process again. Saturday we were stuck at the grocery story for probably a half-hour because I just kept waiting longer and long to try to start it and on the 4th or 5th try it finally started.

When it starts, it doesn't quit...it's good to go until it happens again. This first started happening about 3 weeks ago. It probably didn't do it again for a week, and now there is fewer times between starts where it won't start.

When it dies on the road, it typically just jerks the car, goes down to 0 RPMs and then goes right back to where it was before. As far as I remember, I don't remember the radio or anything like that cutting out when it happens. It hasn't ever totally stopped causing us to pull over on the side of the road or anything...it's really more of a jerk (kind of like a wire tripping).
