You are correct in that we have NEVER received a substantial CASH payment for either Prefs or Commons but rather only share distributions.

Some may have received a small cash distribution for their fractional shares after the conversion but this amount would have been negligible.

As usual MCLAW is trying to rewrite history but unfortunately for her nobody takes it seriously.
