Not only that but Italy's healthcare system is significantly stronger than the healthcare system of _many_ US states, particularly poorer states with weaker social safety nets. The claim that the US is somehow better prepared for this crisis or responding better than Europe is completely delusional. Europe and the US are eons away from the successful east Asian countries' responses, and this disease did serious damage to even those countries who responded exceptionally well.
