The trials themselves are not very long excepting the AD trial. The factor that seems to be taking a long time is the recruitment phase.

Because of the relatively short trial times I don't see an agency "going out on a limb" prior to at least one placebo controlled study returning positive results.

With one placebo controlled trial, with a sufficient N, showing strong positive results the agencies will be able to look at all the other open trial results with much more confidence in interpreting them. That could be what is needed to get a provisional approval for several indications.

We will just have to wait and see how this turns out. It is entirely possible that the drug agencies have all their resources focused on the Covid-19 situation and Avavex trials are not a concern at this time.
