I have now gone right through the CRTC submission video, and there are some really interesting points.

TNW is not an MVNO, and was actually quite hostile to that business model. Classes it as a race to the bottom, however, as long as the CRTC opens up to the regional carriers, we should be fine.

TNW wants the power to deny services to the regional carriers stripped away from the big 3 and handled independently. They also gave a great example of where the have abused their power. They used the technical wording of the words Can / Shall to deny service as “Can” is optional.

TNW owns the Spectrum in its area, plus 7 towers which have recently been upgraded. It’s also fully operational with Friendly users ( essentially test users ). Once they have access to the Wireless Network they can go live. Everything is already in place ( This actually surprised me. )

The billing they intend to use is also quite interesting, they don’t like the “packages” x GB per month at $xx.. they are a con, and responsible for gross overcharging. If you use 1 MB you pay for 1 MB. My guess would be the big 3 would lobby very hard against this.

I mentioned the link with the US in a previous post. This is important, and if I’m right will become very clear later in the year ( as important as Calvin is to us in the Crypto space ). I will try to get the timing on the video so you can hear the passing comment yourselves.

In all I expect a proper launch of TNW and IPCS this year. The CRTC decision in the summer should open the doors to the regional carriers ( not just TNW ) in the summer. From what I can tell, this should work out very well for us.

Also finally, and not something I really understood before. Although regional carriers concentrate on their territory where they have spectrum, they will be able to sell services nationally.
