CVS wanted a National Deal for the ActiPatch Enhanced Knee Sleeve, AW said No

The new management at BIEL, that took over in 10/2019, has contacted CVS about reviving this deal as well as the Dr. Scholl's and the KT-Tape Deals that AW killed.

Boots Walgreen did not toss BIEL out. ActiPatch was a good seller for them. Biel had a $2.3 million year in 2015 and a $2 million year in 2016 largely from UK Sales.

Shelf Space in Drug Stores is not free, 'Slotting Fees' are charged. After ActiPatch received inclusion in the NHS Drug Tariff AW decided that the majority of sales would shift to NHS coverage. The remaining sales would not be enough to warrant the Slotting Fees.

The local NHS authorities, CCGs, decide what medicines and medical devices from the Drug Tariff that they will authorize for use in each community. Money has been tight in the NHS for several years and they have been slow to authorize many new medicines/devices including ActiPatch due to budgetary concerns.

Canada has never been a hot market for ActiPatch. The highlights are the Costco Online Store, 100 Showcase stores, Toronto General Hospital.

<<<<<NO REPEAT BUYERS>>>>> FALSE

When ActiPatch was pulled from Boots and Lloyds in te UK many customers were complaining about no source for ActiPatch. Online retailers 'Chemist-4-You' and 'Nationwide Pharmacy' stepped in to meet the UK demand for ActiPatch.
