Skunkstox: I forgot to put a locknut on the control stick bolt on a two seat Wizard ultralight. The plane flew great until I turned onto final for landing. The stick came loose in my hand and I had to land the plane using the other stick for the right seat. I did get a little worried when that happened.
As far as the Strat is concerned, I think the test engineers are probably documenting each and every ground test to assure the FAA that the Strat will stay glued together. One inspector will sign off on the bird, but he also knows that in doing so, he puts his career at risk. It is my best guess that there will be a team of FAA engineers perusing all the paperwork and viewing all of the tests. If and when they are happy is when the inspector will sign off on the bird.
No man should be considered totally useless....because he can always serve as a bad example.
