From the Nightfood Ice Cream shipping FAQ: & my own personal experience with ordering it.

Note: the extreme temperature changes resulting from the cold of the dry ice may sometimes cause the ice cream to "contract" inside the container. All pints leave our facility 100% full and we take all possible measures to decrease the chances of shrinkage occurring. Should shrinkage occur, that does not impact the quality of the product.
