Anavex didn't know as much about their compound's potential in both neuro-degenerative and neuro-developmental disease and models as they do now.

Discovery and building scientific understanding takes time and effort!

Easy to do retrospective biochecking with twentytwenty hindsight, but it isn't worth much. Anavex did and seems to be still doing what is rational based on where they are at in their understanding.
