"Except the practice in Vietnam is NOT to rear silkworms in the winter."

because the practice in Vietnam is for households to raise worms outside...not indoors as kblb tried to do...

"KBLB was bucking the trend."

by doing it indoors as well...thats why they had a shot at it..

"The leaves that could be harvested might be of low quality. This doesn't seem that much of a stretch to me."

it does to me...the winter weather in Vietnam would hardly even cause one to wear a sweater...it aint like it gets below freezing in quang nam or wherever that facility is..mulberry trees are fairly hardy...they aren't as delicate as silkworms..i doubt the mild temps in winter bother them much...

besides if it was true that the leaves in winter suck, then how does planting 40 more acres of them help?...

"I'm guessing these are much harder to come by than you assume."

wrong...it took me 20 seconds to google the question and it turns out that Vietnam makes and sells humidifiers...just like everyone else...even if they didn't, kim and all the rest of them had months and months to figure out what they were gonna need..

"Just run down to the local Home Depot and plunk down your credit card and run off with 10 humidifiers, right?"

yup..just like that..

"Except, well, I doubt they have Home Depots in Quang Nam"

more like lowe's...except they are called tran's…

"Finally, it may not have been obvious to the crew at Prodigy this was a problem."

after 10 yrs of fiddling around with those damn worms, there shouldn't be much they don't know about them..
